Kelley Anne Comes Home!!

Friends and Family,

James brought Kelley Anne home Wednesday at 2 p.m., after 3 months, one week and one day in the hospital. We did not go to the hospital, as they had classes and instructional meetings pertaining to treatment, shots, and medicines at home. James called en route home, and we met them at the house. Dawn and Lydia were already there. We helped James get Pudge out of the Quest into her new walker and then wheelchair, and into the house, stopping to admire the new flower beds planted by Dawn on Sunday and Monday. There are also new planters for Pudge's potted plants, and the Porch was neatly arranged with plants, and the new Bunny Rabbits. Pudge negotiated the front steps with James' support, and she was very happy with the Thai-themed living room that Dawn, Diane, and Maryann arranged so beautifully Sunday. James had discovered that the Laser was off when the initial upper kitchen cabinets were installed throwing them approx. 1 inch too low from the ceiling. He and Harold reinstalled them, plus the rest ot the remaining upper cabinets. Thus, when Pudge walked into the kitchen she saw a full wall of upper cabinets. She loves them, particularly the Alder wood. And she also saw her new Bay Window at the new sink site. She couldn't believe how far along the house rework has advanced. She hasn't seen the downstairs yet, but is looking forward to seeing the Bar and Family Room. We sat in the Living Room for an hour, and she began to tire, so we helped her to her Bedroom, and into bed. Dawn, Lydia, Mama, and I had to leave at 3:15, and Dawn dropped the prescription list off at Walgreens on the way out of town. Diane fixed Dinner for Pudge and James, and brought it over after 5. Mama talked to James, and he said Pudge didn't come down to the Dining Room, but ate at her dresser in her wheelchair tonight. It's been a busy day for she and Jimbo. The big Welcome Home sign was on the Garage door, and Shelby, Alexandra, Brian, and Lydia really did a great job on it. Calls have been coming in from all over, and Pudge is very happy to be home, finally. She saw Star and Diane Sousa before leaving the hospital to say goodbye, and wore her Lei home that Diane brought from Honolulu.. It has been an interesting time with many emotions, and unlimited help and support from so many people. Again, we don't know how to thank everyone for ALL the encouragement, all of which has been saved for Pudge to see in the future. All her Cards, E-mails, and gifts will be at her disposal in chronological order, plus I hear that Wes has been working with James to produce a DVD for Pudge to see what happened while she was gone. With apologies for the E-mails clogging the net, we'll sign off tonight, and say Thanks to everyone. God Bless All the Medical Staff at one of the top trauma centers in the world. Our love to everyone.

Kelley Anne, James, Donna, Harold, Janet, Bill, Amelia Ann, and all the volunteers who made a near tragedy into a shining example of Friendship, and Kindness.

Butler House Works

A few months ago James and Kelley Anne came home from a vacation weekend to a flooded home. The water line to the refrigerator broke, flooding that level and the one below. Many wonderful friends have offered to help with the rebuilding construction, and now a schedule for the work parties has been set. These events and dates are not set in stone, and may be adjusted to work around volunteer’s schedules. Please select the link above to view the schedule and directions. All helping hands are welcome and greatly appreciated.
