Woman In Critical Condition After Martinez Crash

MARTINEZ, CA - A 42-year-old woman is in critical condition following an accident this afternoon in Martinez, according to Martinez police.

On arrival at the scene around 3:30 p.m., police found the woman's 1987 Volvo station wagon crashed into a tree on the west side of Alhambra Avenue south of Forest Way.

The woman suffered major injuries to her left leg, left arm, and other unknown internal injuries, according to police.

She was airlifted to the John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.

Police are investigating the crash, and anyone with information about it is asked to contact Traffic Officer Bill Kruta at (925) 372-3440.

Hello my dear Kelley Anne, I feel so awful that I'm not with you during this horrible event. I talk with the family at least a couple times a day.
It was so amazing to hear your voice the other night, you totally caught me off guard, What a great boost to all of us so far away. You are so loved and missed by all of Washington. The icu staff I work with are so supportive and are a huge support for me. I can't wait to see you amd hug you. Your little sister. Connie (suds). xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

what id like to know is what she hit before the tree, thats amazing anyone could walk away from that even in a Volvo! And i am a huge believer in Volvo's for Life! anyone know what the details are?

Are we looking at the same picture here? That lousy car all but exploded. It did nothing to protect anybody inside it.
